Handmades

A few handmade item:
I been collecting vintage pillowcases for the purpose of making a quilts, last year I made two lap quilts and in December started a Around the World quilt, I finally finished the quilt this January, after I found the most lovely mint green blanket to add to the back.

Also started and finished a little organizer wall hanger from the beautiful fabric line Paperie by Amy Sinibaldi. I decided to machine applique Jane Eyre, the result was pretty and sweet if I say myself.

I made a few more pincushions, this time to offer it at my Instagram account, sold two so far.
I also made more painted wood pieces , haven't been able to sale any yet, I must learn to cut my own wood so prices wouldn't be so high. I also would like to sale for weddings or party favors too.

I finally added Jane Eyre and Adele(sold) to my Etsy shop!
And will add a few more dolls from my new collection. I also sold one of the first dolls I made, right now I only  have one doll from the 1st collection still available, the price is now mark down.
Keeping up with my Etsy shop can sometimes be a bit challenging for me, but such a privilege to share my ideas on a handmade form with others.

For the love of Autumn

“I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.”
L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables

While many are already experiencing snow on their side of the world , in Texas we are enjoying pleasant weather, the kind that makes you embrace the outside with full force, it makes one find every excuse possible to enjoy it. That is not hard for me , for I am a lover of nature and autumns, always looking forward to that first crisp morning, pumpkins patch, mums in the store, the first fall colors...
Autumn like spring renews my love to photograph nature, at this time there aren't many autumn colors in our area but there isn't a lack of beautiful things around us.

Anne of Green Gables

Anne of Green Gable Mini Quilt

Last month I had the privilege of create this little quilt for a friend on Instagram for The Green Gable Swap. Quilts are new to me, I enjoy(most of the time) learning new techniques. For this little quilt, I painted on the fabric my version of Anne ( She probably saw Gilbert and maybe( just maybe) hits him in the head with her book.).
Because of the color Green on the title of Anne's story, I decided that the edges of the quilt should all be green too.
This pattern is called the Drunkard's path block, no as hard as it looks, with a little bit of patient anyone can master this technique , there are lost of tutorials online also. The flowers were a little challenging...trying to master a invisible stitchs wasn't the easiest task. But all in all I was very happy with the end result and I would like to try making another one someday... In the picture also my hand painted Ikea doll bed , a gift I made for my daughter this past Christmas.
Are you new to quilts ? Have you master a new techniques ?
Linking with : I have to say.
